Hi..

Newbie question

Is there a way to find out how much time is left in a candlestick before it switches to the next one.  I am assuming it is a standard setting somewhere that i am missing

Tnx

Also have the same question. I don't see it anywhere as an option.

i think i know the answer..  all candlesticks run by on the hour..

So 1H  is applicable from 10-11, 11-12, 12-1

30M is 10-10:30; 10:30-11, 11-11:30. 11:30-12

all based on GMT.

5 mins slots run in the same way.

IG's 'Day' timeframe is  midnight to midnight (atleast in the UK)

I am in the US and Do not see the daily candles appearing in the window of time from 5:00pm to 9:00pm New York Time. Is there a setting that I must enter for my time zone?

As per my understanding, a 'Day' is a 24 hour cycle irrespective of where you are.. not a session.  So on my settings in the UK, i get it from midnight to midnight rather than London session.  So i suspct you are getting a mid-night to midnight East Coast..

    • Thanks. A really interesting video and some interesting statistics and analysis. I haven't the time to go back and analyse whether a strong November increases the chance of there not being a Santa rally, although one of the slides highlights that the negative Santa Rally years were tied with poor November returns for the market such as 2000, 2008 etc which seems a contradiction.  Would I short and back against it happening? When it occurs in over 80% of years... absolutely not.  The Santa Rally – Christmas Growth in the Stock Market. (moneysandi.com)
