Partial Filling of Limit Order

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am new to the IG trading platform.

I placed a limit order of £10K which was partially filled in tiny amounts but costing £8 per trade, in some cases the £8 represented 5% of the share value.

I looked how to turn off the 'Partial fill' option, and it was stated as being on the left hand side menu, then pressing settings but the only options on the Settings is :

DEAL SETTINGS - 'Show Order Preview Screen' and 'Order Type & Expiry'....both are On / Off switches

PLATFORM SETTINGS - 'alert sound' and 'Price tick indicators'

(please see attached picture)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Guest Hello,

I am unable to see the option you have shown in your screenshot. When looking at the deal, there is no tick box with the option to accept partial fill. Can you please help?

Hi all,
If you are on Share dealing account you won't have the partial fill box on the deal ticket.
You orders might get partially filled at the end of the session because you selected a Day limit define as  :

You can try to put a Good Till cancelled expiry to avoid your order being close at the end of the Day.

I hope that it helps !

All the best - Arvin

    • Hi buddy, from my experience m, you sounded like you're setting a life goal for yourself in the crypto trading journey while some only treat it as a side gain where they only trade to make some profits, but seeing your eagerness, I'll say you should take it slow and do some due research.  You can try copy trading, it seems people make a lot from it following experts' trades. Please ensure you do your research and don't just take words from people you meet online. Be consistent with your savings of profits and see how you'll grow.
