Audible notification for stops hit (suggestion #2)

Recommended Posts

The web platform generates an audible notification when positions are opened by the system but not for positions closed. I've never seen a platform behave that way. You have no way of knowing if a stop is hit unless you happen to be looking at the notification panel. It's a nuisance to be constantly checking when you are trying to get on with other things.

Also, it would be helpful if the sounds for opening and closing of positions were different.

Hi Mondrian, just in case you don't know. There are audio notifications for entries and stops in Prorealtime. Female or Male default voices say stuff like "Buy at market executed" for stops/targets it says "Sell/Buy Limit executed, exit with {Gains/Loss}". You can also use your own audio files.

Hope this helps.

PS: This is a great idea and would be cool to see it implemented in the web platform.

Thanks, I've been trialing PRT. Like it but the lack of tick volume on FX could be a problem.

These advanced features are also available in TradingView and rather than try to add them to their own web platform the best idea would be for IG to allow the use of TradingView to trade with IG.  (Exposing APIs and other such fancy things 🤓 )

    • Hey @Tezzza,  If you're receiving statements in the post you can stop by emailing us with a request to stop sending them.  If you're referring to the emailed statements you receive everyday this can't be stopped. Once of the regulatory guidelines is to keep clients informed on their trading. Our email statements is how we do that. However, some clients have a separate folder in their emails to forward these.  All the best
    • Hey Cate,  It is true that the regulators are looking to put a ban on Cryptos however there hasn't been enough information yet for us to take action. When we have more information we will reach out to client regarding their positions.  I completely understand and closing positions isn't something we want to do but we will have to stay inline with regulator guidelines. Please know, we will keep you updated.  All the best.
