Instant buy / sell shares feature

Recommended Posts

Hi. I’ve recently moved from another trading app and already invested this week. One thing I didn’t like was I had to input the number of stock to buy + set a specific price to buy. By the time I did that, the stock price had altered and it said, not sufficient amount. So I had to readjust it. This is very inefficient especially if you need to quickly buy or sell.
Instead you should have like the ability to input the amount in money you want to buy or sell and let the system buy at the current price and work out the number of shares. Also this goes for how many shares you want to buy and the system will work out how much it will cost on the fly. When you see a good deal, you want to enter ASAP and not have to fiddle around with input fields. Is this something that exists as I couldn’t find it.

I’ve taken some screenshots from the other app I used which let’s you do that.

thanks

Not sure which app you use, but on my iPad I get the option to buy a quantity of shares or invest a specific amount.  Also on my laptop the first option is for a number of shares but there is a dropdown box enables me to change to an amount of money to invest. Like you I always invest a specific amount including commission etc.

To this end, I had a conversation with @CharlotteIG about this recently (last couple of weeks) suggesting that the system is changed around so that investment amount is shown first and number of shares second, as most private investors do no invest in round lots,  and she promised to take this back to the team for consideration but not heard anything further yet.

    • Take 10 minutes to read what actual 'experts' are saying about this latest Ferguson Fiasco and how the testing is currently being done.   ...on the oFPR, I commend to you that you disregard the daily “X thousands of new infections yesterday” headlines. These reports are just not true. These statements assume (if they’ve thought about it at all) that the oFPR is zero, which it certainly isn’t. • Speaking of depressingly low 'levels of intelligence' the UK govt and SAGE sink to new depths. • you are without doubt the most dishonest person that's ever been on this forum.  For over 9 months I have been continuously posting WHO, NHS, PHE, CDC, UK gov and US gov data, you have never really challenged any of it but instead try pick at the edges as if that might change the point, 'oh that's slightly out of date' is the best you ever come up with. But usually you just pretend to yourself it doesn't exist or that it's all just memes because you simply can not stand facts that don't suit you bias.   Pathetic would be an understatement, I can see why you just stick to the BBC evening news for your sole source of information and clearly simple searching is beyond you, tapping in just a few key word from the 'screenshot' would have found the web page. I really must lower my expectations of the levels of intelligence on here. Spain Number of deaths, 1950-2020 - knoema.com    .
