I AM CLOSING MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE THIS IS JUST HORRIBLE - cheating their customers

Yes, this has now happened 2 days running when markets have been extremely volatile. Unacceptable.

YES! absolutely it happens repeatedly which is nothing less a malicious action by the IG. At some times it even prevents to adjust stop loss or a limit order resulting  in a serious MONEY LOSS

This happened to me. Could not open a sell position to limit my losses and between system crashing and by the time I realised I couldn’t open a sell position due to flats in the IG platform or restrictions, my only option was to lower my stop loss. Then I couldn’t move it lower despite having more then sufficient funds. All I could do was sit and watch my position close out on me.

Well I am leaving IG. What happens when there is high volatility is totally unacceptable.  It is not just poor service, but they are CHEATING their customers out of millions. So why would you continue to trade on such a platform.

Perhaps start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?  I am game for it.

Email me. I will go with this if we don’t get results. Info@ies.uk.com

I placed an order Thurs evening to buy Novovax when the market opened Fri. It was ignored and the market rose as expected and i missed out. Could not raise anyone on the dog and bone and my laptop very nearly got smashed into oblivion a la Moon.

What legal recourse is there for losses incurred?

Contact the FCA and complain. The only way to get results is to make noise and complain, they can’t ignore us all for ever

Anyone else thinks this is outrageous by IG?

Shocking, we need answers. We need to keep at them until we get answers

I am not a trader, more just a small investor with IG. I have 99% of my investments with Hargreaves Lansdown and only started with IG after Hargreaves Lansdown was down for half an hour.

IG site is harder to use and the cost figure shown annoys me very much, as it does not include dealing charges and Stamp Duty, therefore overstating any profits. HL show the proper total cost.

More worried about huge drop in IG share Price. I now have 1000 shares, and was doing quite nicely before latest announcement. CMC are only on half the rating and seem a better bet now. Will probably close my IG account as not suited to small private investors. The mobile app is even worse than Windows 10.

HL has had some issues last week, with funny messages at times. They admitted that their system is not brilliant. Seems a shame they cannot afford to make their system top quality. Would love to have just a dealing site without all the investment **** they are trying to sell.

    • I don't think it would be a problem trading during the weekend. You can trade whenever you want.  I learned how to do it on the cryptoinformator website. The highest income is brought by bitcoin. When looking at the value of the current 55,000 dollars, of course, everyone is thinking about investing in it. Forecasts vary, and many believe that by the end of 2021, they would have surpassed 100,000 dollars. The growth is projected to be based on the fact that real-world payment flow stock markets are still burdened by the current pandemic but is also based on the increasing acceptance of BTC as legal tender ( PayPal is bringing this option, and bitcoin is also coming to Wall Street soon).
    • I played around with it (created two plots of the smallest viable K-32 size). While I'm farming this tiny amount now I've stopped plotting until pooling is introduced - since existing plots aren't going to be compatible with pooling. The cost of wearing out SSDs is high. You're effectively buying (via SSD wear) lottery tickets (the plots) with a chance of winning a lottery (by farming). Without pooling its unlikely small players will win. The "estimated time to win" is based on current network space that will probably rise at a very quick rate reducing your chance of winning exponentially.  Unless you're farming petabytes, using the rule of large numbers to take out the lottery element, its not worth the time of smaller farmers imho. It may be worthwhile when they introduce pooling.
    • Yeah, you can trade whenever you want.
