Moving existing shares from Share dealing account to ISA

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to transfer my existing IG shares into an IG ISA instantly?

I've tried using Live chat several times but no-one available, & I'm hanging on the phone now - but hopefully someone will have a quick answer for me?

Thank you!

Thanks for your post.

You can transfer shares from your share dealing account to ISA via the Bed & ISA process, which involves selling the shares and repurchase them on the ISA account. This process can be done over the phone with one of our dealers.

It'll cost £40 in commission per line of stock to sell the shares on share dealing account but free of charge to repurchase on the ISA. There will also be spread costs which is capped to roughly £30 per line of stock, however, this is generally cheaper for the majority of stocks.

If you're interested in doing so, please call us so we can help.

Alternatively you can sell the stock, wait for the funds to settle, move the funds and buy them back in the ISA.

All the best

I think the point the Client is trying to make, is no body picks up the phone. This has been my experience. Waiting for literally an hour at a time, and then still no one picks up.

This raises the question ... Is there actually anyone there to answer the phone?

    • This weekend don't forget the rules to SAVE LIVES!!!!!   ... unless of course you happen to be going to Ascot 👍
    • Looks like it's a flat squib affair for the SP500 - I'm away early next week, but I'd give this until Tuesday (max 3 weeks after the physical date) to do something otherwise I'm marking it down as a failure Which is not bad, out of all the TC's this one is the one to be most concerned won't work, especially during an UP Bullish major cycle, which is what we are in, but the expectation was for the market to react as per May 2012 as shown on the Internal cycle harmonic chart in the post directly above So unless we get a 7%+ correction from the highs next week - I'll simply log this as failed - remember we trade the market NOT the Time Cycle  The small correction into the actual date is NOT good enough to say that was it! - We should be able to see these corrections/upswings clearly on a monthly chart, which means they should be of significance I'll hold off publishing the next Time Cycle just in case something happens next week SP500 Index Daily Chart: data to Thursday 17th June 2021
