Web Trading API Excel Sample

Highriskcap

Question

When I use the sample excel API, it fails to pull in bid / offer / high / low / change / change % data.  Cells just read ‘subscribed’.  Which is odd since the API online companion has no problem pulling the same data.  Anyone had similar issues or know how to fix?

Much appreciated.

Just to let you know, I have built an Excel Add-in which provides easy to use formulas for accessing IG data, as well as other financial data providers.

I fully support it and regularly add new features so there is a small monthly charge to use it.

You can try it free for 10 days at: https://www.excelpricefeed.com/

Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you find it useful!

I have the same problem and I suspect this happens as soon your positions increase in consistent number:

The excel is able to connect in bottom left corned showing the balance and account data with message "connected".

The file crash as soon I click on position button.

Anybody has resolved this somehow?

    • Demo account: Please note that conditions on demo accounts may differ from real accounts. Some brokers may only provide overnight loans on real accounts and not on demo accounts.
    • Swap Rate: Check the swap rates for your open positions. Overnight loans are calculated based on the difference between the interest rates of a currency pair, and if the difference is small or negative, you will not receive a loan.
