LONDON — European markets climbed on Tuesday after the previous session’s sell-off, with concerns over the omicron Covid-19 variant still hanging over global stocks.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 added 1% in early trade, retracing much of Monday’s loss. Basic resources jumped 2.3% to lead gains as all sectors and major bourses traded in positive territory.

European shares look set to grab the baton from their counterparts in Asia-Pacific, where a bounce back for Japanese markets led broad regional gains overnight. CNBC
