Unreliable IG ALERTS - Deletion by system after weekend maintenance

Recommended Posts

Due to the continual loss of ALL Alerts data - the platform has now become unreliable.

If the platform had functionality to allow the user to Export (Backup) Alerts and Import (Restore) Alerts - then this unreliability could be mitigated by the user.

It is extremely time consuming to have to manually re-enter all Alerts that have been accumulated each week, and then lost at the weekend - the deletion is probably as a result of IG system maintenance being carried out.

We have not found any other platforms to be as unreliable as this.

Yes, totally agree. I had reported this problem months ago and today lost alerts once more (4 times so far). Their support team said they had no idea what the problem is and do not know if they will ever be able to fix it! Suggest use another product, that's what I'm going to have to do. Without alerts makes the product useless.

Hi Digi,

Thanks for sharing your experience as well - at least we know it is not a user error on our side. We also logged the same problem weeks back and are also not getting any confidence from the support team that they know when it will be fixed. We have moved to another platform as a couple of our trading strategies have market entry driven by alerts ...... and without reliable alerts we can't trade. :(

    • Hi, I normally download data from this free service. https://www.dukascopy.com/plugins/fxMarketWatch/?historical_data If you are familiar with any coding language you can request data from the IG API. https://labs.ig.com/rest-trading-api-reference/service-detail?id=552 The smaller time frame you can get from there is (minute).
    • hi  fully agree to this senario of today . I had good respect for IG.but not anymore after this. they answered the phone after 30 minutes and I lost nearly ONE hour of Trading . I am definately going to OPEN another account  with another Broker and Split the Business between two. IG makes hell of Money from my account . The Management might wake up when revenue goes down . Loyalty to just One broker is not a good idea, If IG breaks down I can straight away deal with other broker . I am sure they are not going to compensate all the customers for todays breakdown .
    • Hi Does anybody know where I might be able download historical IG Markets "Wall Street" index tick data?
