How to set a max daily loss in PRT ProOrder, and position sizing

Nickodemus

Question

Hi,

Is there a way to set a max daily loss in automated trading with PRT ProOrder?  i.e. Automate the strategy, but kill it each day if cumulative daily losses hit % of equity.

Also, struggling to work out how to set a position size based on % of available equity?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - the 'programming' seems very limited in it's functions compared with the likes of Pine. (Or maybe i'm just being ignorant...)

Many thanks

Hi Nickodemus,

Yes you can do both with a small amount of code.  You can also limit the amount trades and risk the algo can do in a given period.

I code many algo's and use them on a daily basis so happy to help if you haven't already sort.  It is best to use the PRT community as this is where all the cders reside.  DM me on that and I am happy to share some code.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the tip - I can't figure out how to DM you on here... (historically not a big forum user), but I'd be very grateful for specifics on how to achieve what you're suggesting with the code. I have also now joined the PRT forum (under the same username)

Many thanks

Apologies for the delay.  I don't really use this.  You can follow finf me on PRT, https://www.prorealcode.com/user/smpaxton/?view=posts

Happy to answer all you questions, I am a power user and tester on PRT and write many bots as well as run a trading group where we use all the PRT functions to screen trades so PRT finds the trades for use so we can trade or let the bots trade for us.

    • Yes Goldenbrown, I think you make a good point about being careful when trading.  In my opinion, only trades which are calculated to have a high probability of being correct should be placed. DAX is a market that can look daunting at first, but after a lot of study and experience with it, I have found it to be easier than the others. This pioneering approach streamlines user re-staking while addressing concerns regarding operator selection and reward management. Participants stake ETH and earn APR from both native and EigenLayer restaking, receiving ezETH tokens—liquid assets for DeFi. Renzo's vision extends to interoperability across Ethereum and Layer 2 chains like Arbitrum, Linea, Mode, Base, BNB, and OKX, ensuring accessibility across diverse ecosystems.Renzo's standout feature lies in the ezETH token's appreciation over time, driven by promised APR, potentially offering superior returns. Seamlessly integrated into DeFi liquidity pools and lending protocols, ezETH provides diversified earning avenues. Compared to similar projects, Renzo distinguishes itself with its innovative liquid staking and interoperability. Supported by investments from Binance Labs and OKX Ventures, Renzo's listing on exchanges like Bitget further solidifies its significance. With 10% allocated for ETH stakers, Renzo fosters community engagement.Eager to explore how Renzo's liquid staking model stacks up against traditional staking? Let's delve into the details!"
