MT4: platform settings; mql4 code snippets of indicators and Expert Advisors; chart screenshots; and technical MT4 strategies

This topic is dedicated to Metaquotes' MetaTrader 4 (MT4) trading platform (forex only). As MT4 is a 3rd party trading platform, MT4 traders generally must familiarize themselves with MT4 well in advance of trading with any broker/dealer. Let's help each other do so here.

Although mq4, ex4, and tpl files are not enabled as attachments, source code snippets of indicators and Expert Advisors can be attached as jpg or png files.

This might be a good place to ask or answer mql4 programming questions as well.

Attached below are full snippets of a highly customizable moving average indicator, to which I added the only known logarithmic moving average code. Credits to Igorad at ForexFactory for the original indicator, and rezzaHmt at TradingView for the logarithmic formula. Default settings are MA: logarithmic, and Period: 9.

Due to conversion from mq4 to jpg, you must copy and paste, or manually type, the code into MetaEditor.
