Trendline extension

Neil12

Question

Hi, I've used a number of platforms over the years (TV, TradeStation, Ninja, MT4 & MT5) and IG's platform is actually pretty good.  One problem I have, that I've not encountered elsewhere, is that the trendline ray extends both left and right by default.  Is there a way to disable the left extension? This is important for two reasons: 1) allows to see w/o clicking the trendline where the join comes from and 2) doesn't clutter the chart.

Appreciate any inputs on how best to address this.

Many thanks

Hi @Neil12,

We are glad to hear that you have found IG's platform to be good!
Regrettably, the default setting on Trendline is the only option available at present, and it's not possible to disable the extension on either side. Nevertheless, we'll forward your feedback to the appropriate department for evaluation, and perhaps this feature can be added in the near future.
Alternatively, you can consider using the 'Point to Point' option, which provides similar functionality.

All the best,
AshishIG

In addition, can I get clarification that any gains earned is still under the tax free  "gambling / speculation" wrapper ?
