Low risk fixed income using spread betting

Recommended Posts

HI ,  Not a fixed income as that would need to be an investment product but the lowest volatility and therefore safest markets that I am aware of are in the Sectors section, so instead of taking a position on an individual company or commodity you are betting on the sector as a whole. You will need to do a bit of research as to which sectors are currently in favour in the business/economic cycle and some analysis of the particular charts in question to buy the lows and to avoid buying the highs.

There is no guarantee of course as in any spread betting. Anyone else have a candidate for the title of 'safest' market?

Below is a weekly chart, not many weekly charts look as placid as that.

The sectors are listed at the bottom of the indices list in 'Finder' on the old platform (not yet available on the new platform). Also check the link to the IG sectors info page.

Hi  - What you seem to be describing is more a bond or dividend paying ETF or stock, but unfortunately this isn't really what the spread betting offering was designed for. A CFD or Spread Betting account is actually a speculative tool which most people use for leveraged shorter term speculation - and as with all investments there is no guarantee of a payout in the same way as there would be with the yield on a bond.

There is, however, the option of using a share dealing account to invest in longer term holdings, shares and ETF's, and those which pay a dividend. I am unable to suggest any, however if you check out our ETF Screener you may be able to get some ideas.

You can also check out our investments news articles for some ideas.

    • Because of this, it's wise for traders to thoroughly investigate exchanges before choosing one. I exclusively deal with cryptocurrency exchanges that have declared proof of reserve in the wake of the unfortunate events that saw some go bankrupt and others hack. Because of what I've heard traders say about Bitget and the fact that it met my requirements, I had to start using it right away. Therefore, I'd advise DYOR to choose whatever best meets your needs.
    • The Santa Rally – Christmas Growth in the Stock Market. You may well of heard of the ‘Santa Rally’. It’s a commonly discussed stock market theory. It is the basic concept that the stock markets, particularly the major indices, show positive returns on the run up to Christmas and the New year. Myth or legend? We look at the stats.  As you can see from the below table the FTSE100 rose in price in 12 of the 15 years. That’s 80% of the time. The average difference was 1.95% https://moneysandi.com/the-santa-rally-christmas-growth-in-the-stock-market/ Anyone had any experience of trading this?  #trading #money #trader #investing #investment #crypto #stockmarket #stocks #business #invest #entrepreneur #finance #investor #daytrader #daytrading #trade  #wallstreet #wealth #santarally #finance
