US Options futures requests

Recommended Posts

Hey IG team,

I have a few requests related to the US Options and futures accounts:

  • Allow access to the Tasty desktop application: The desktop app has some really nice features that the web app lacks.
  • Linked to the above: Allow to follow tasty live traders in the desktop app. This would be very handy for those of us learning about options (and even more when the UK tasty live sections starts in the next few weeks).
  • And allow personal/retail users to trade crypto and crypto derivatives available on Tasty (maybe allow it only on request like with futures). You guys are supposed to be the one stop shop for all trading related products! :).

And one question: will IG provide a tax certificate at the end of the financial year to present to HMRC?

Thank you folks!!

Dear @HydroBoy,

Thank you for your suggestions. These have been noted.

A CTC is provided for share dealing accounts and annual statements for CFD accounts which can be used for tax purposes.

All the best,

For serious trading access to the desktop application is an absolute must.

I have already seen a couple of instances where the web interface fails to acknowledge that a trade has been placed leading to a double position.

The position did not show up until I logged out and reloaded the page.

The desktop app is much more responsive and robust.

SO if there is a way to login with an IG username and password  in the desktop app or launch the desktop version from the browser , that would be really useful

One of the things that is missing from the web platform is the ability to create an alert based on option price. So the desktop app is a must for the style of option trading I use

    • With Bitcoin aiming for a new ATH, this staking might be the best option to maximum holding
    • Tbh, trading can be frustrating, I keep trying different strategy to perfect my trading skill but all seems to be in vain. Recently, I learnt we can use AI to predict the market to trade, so I decide to start asking AI to analyze when btc is overbought so I can look for short entry but this seems not to work against as most trade I enter end up hitting my SL. I know this is part of the learning process so I don’t risk too much but it hurt to lose fund especially when you are trying your best to make your first positive trade. Sometime, I just feel the market is totally against me and that further discourages me from futures trading. Recently, I got introduced to BTC staking on some platforms like BGBTC on bitget, Babylon chain, Solv protocol, Coredao etc but that doesn’t quench my hunger to understand BTC volatility since I will just stake my btc and earn apr. I want to understand how this volatility works so I can start making something from futures trading rather than just staking to earn apr. Also, I feel staking is for spot traders that intend to hold for a longer period and that doesn’t expose you to the market. I am not like most trader that prioritize profit over knowledge even when that is the final goal.
