doesn't sound right to me. Are you sure you are doing everything correct. I always trade AIM listed on IG, both dealing and Spread Bet.

You mean you can search and see AIM stocks but not place a trade? which stock are you looking to buy/sell?

Hi

Thank you for your replies.

I have AIM stocks added to my watchlist but cannot trade most of them .. few examples: TLOU, BOIL, LION,URU, UPL.. Also there is no indication that I wont be able to open a position - only get the message when I actually try to place a trade (the button is green but the message appears when I click it).  Not very useful.

New to CFDs really so still learning but find it hard to find enough information on IG.

well they all look like legit AIM tickers, the only one I could not find was UPL(?)

I don't see why IG would not have these available. Have you called the dealing desk to check? I would expect them to be available on a speadbet platform but I do not have a CFD account so cannot explain any more.

Hi  - please find the required info below. With the unborrowable stock you can always give us a call and we can check the underlying market to see if we can secure anything. Stockbroking only stock are generally those markets which have a small market cap, thin liquidity, and wouldn't be suitable for our leveraged offering. As a very rough rule, we're looking for £10m minimum market cap on UK stock, however other things like daily traded volume and free float levels are also important.

TLOU
Unborrowable and no guaranteed stops

LION
Unborrowable

BOIL, URU, and UPL
Stockbroking only

If they think a stock will rise significantly during the day they don’t make it available on leverage. Remember in CFD you are betting against them in their own ecosystem.

Perfect example is today. Due to the news over the weekend it was widely anticipated that the FTSE would rise. Guess what all the stocks that I tried which were  “unavailable to trade on leverage”  ended up rising 10pts or more

    • I don't think it would be a problem trading during the weekend. You can trade whenever you want.  I learned how to do it on the cryptoinformator website. The highest income is brought by bitcoin. When looking at the value of the current 55,000 dollars, of course, everyone is thinking about investing in it. Forecasts vary, and many believe that by the end of 2021, they would have surpassed 100,000 dollars. The growth is projected to be based on the fact that real-world payment flow stock markets are still burdened by the current pandemic but is also based on the increasing acceptance of BTC as legal tender ( PayPal is bringing this option, and bitcoin is also coming to Wall Street soon).
    • I played around with it (created two plots of the smallest viable K-32 size). While I'm farming this tiny amount now I've stopped plotting until pooling is introduced - since existing plots aren't going to be compatible with pooling. The cost of wearing out SSDs is high. You're effectively buying (via SSD wear) lottery tickets (the plots) with a chance of winning a lottery (by farming). Without pooling its unlikely small players will win. The "estimated time to win" is based on current network space that will probably rise at a very quick rate reducing your chance of winning exponentially.  Unless you're farming petabytes, using the rule of large numbers to take out the lottery element, its not worth the time of smaller farmers imho. It may be worthwhile when they introduce pooling.
    • Yeah, you can trade whenever you want.
