Spotify (grey market, IPO, full listing)

Recommended Posts

We have a pretty big IPO expected on April 3rd for Spotify, and with IG you can speculate on Spotify’s market cap ahead of its IPO with our grey market, as well as trading or investing in the underlying stock once the listing is complete. This is a going to be a slightly different event to a normal IPO. As quoted

"Spotify hasn’t applied for a traditional initial public offering, it has chosen to float via a direct listing. While the outcome for retail investors is largely the same – Spotify shares will be made available to buy and sell on the NYSE – there are some important differences between the two.

The biggest of these is that no new shares are being issued, so Spotify isn’t seeking to raise capital from the listing. Instead, existing shareholders will be able to sell their shares to the public for the first time. This means that Spotify doesn’t need to get a bank to underwrite its offering or undertake a lengthy roadshow, cutting down costs. It also means that existing shareholders’ positions aren’t diluted.

If the direct listing is successful, then it could convince other tech firms to follow suit. But choosing a direct listing over an IPO brings its own risks – most notably that the lack of a major bank acting as underwriter could bring additional volatility to Spotify’s shares in its early days on the markets."

Spotify has been overshadowed this week unfortunately due to the whole Facebook debacle. Pre ICO earnings are expected on Monday so I'll try and remember to update the community when these are released.

Spotify could be a good buy. Its valued less than its worth and has just released good expectations. Lets see how the ipo does.

Hi , you can find it by opening the old platform from the dashboard then in 'watchlists' and look under 'popular markets'.

    • Is it possible to trade the MERVAL index on IG?
    • New data from Canada shows that lockdowns aren't so bad after all, well for some of us anyway. So long as they can keep finding replacement drivers to deliver my stuff everything is fine.
    • I don't actually know too much about the great reset plan and have never looked into it closely but those that have (Prince Charles, Justin Trudeau etc) all remark on what an opportunity Covid-19 is to get the plan moving so I remain suspicious. The covid numbers are unreliable and problematic, if you go into hospital having had a heart attack you will be tested for covid with the PCR test which is know to give a very high number of false positives. If you test positive you go on the covid cases list and the covid admissions list and if you die from the heart attack you will go on the covid deaths list but it may well be you never actually had covid at all. No matter how you count it though the main point is that if there really was a deadly pandemic sweeping the land then total deaths this year would be way up on the average and they just aren't. I have posted data from the UK, Sweden, Ireland and now the US and all show the same thing, the total number of deaths for this year is normal. Also, normal winter pressures mean hospitals always fill up at this time of year, data I've seen so far for this year is not out of the ordinary but no doubt MSM are shouting CASES!!! Best of luck to you too.
