Quote

Futures prices tend to positively correlate with the positions of non-commercial traders. When non-commercial traders are long in a commodity, then that is usually a strong bullish signal. If non-commercial traders have a substantial number of short positions in a commodity, it can be inferred that this group of investors believes the price of the underlying asset is going to decrease. Over time, the non-commercial traders have been right as well as incredibly responsive to market signals when they are wrong.

I liked this interview and there is definitely something to what he is saying, I know 4 or 5 traders who have given up on technical analysis and moved to quant analysis.

Also liked the end when wandered off topic to say his quant analysis had pick up an uptick in Japanese industry and signals of cyclical recovery.

The 12 worst indicators to use on Forex. Was reminded of this video by recent discussions on the forum. Very interesting concepts and some explanations as to why many well known indicators just don't work.

Also added at the bottom is  the link to his Vid list, I remember the one on big banks was well worth a view as well.

Haven't had a chance to see it yet but the RSI certainly does correspond well with what you see going on in the price movements, at least sometimes.  I like it precisely because it generates far fewer signals and is less noisy.  The MACD for me is visually hideous and unbearably noisy and unreliable, stochs are too complicated and all the rest is just 'pish'.  But if someone finds them useful then it's great.

This is a useful little tip on timing pullback entries and shows how you can spot when a pullback is profit taking (by the bulls in this case) and not a serious attempt at a reversal by the bears. A case of waiting for the bears to obviously fail before looking to enter.

not sure what you are trying to say, you may have heard this from me before though, indicators are just a guide but price action on appropriate chart structure is real so learn chart structure. on the chart above there is down trend and then consolidation, another down leg and then consolidation, a break to the upside then consolidation followed by a break up and lastly a reversal bar. There aren't any pullbacks on this chart.

Learn chart structure.

Heck, I've got a plan after all.

I'm going to sell everything I have and go to Vegas - bet it all on the throw of the dice.

But before I throw the dice I'll ask (pay) the prettiest lady in the room to kiss my dice for good luck.

This is good, you always need a few simple rules that will increase the outcome probability of every one of your entry setups, even breakouts.

My breakout trading strategy: 1. Only use horizontal levels 2. Only use levels that show weakness: multiple consecutive tests 3. Only trade the breakout when you see a consolidation before the breakout or a pullback after the breakout, or both 4. Don't overcomplicate things.

    • The Covid Hoax continues. Everything centers on the PCR test and it's deliberate misuse. A PCR of 25 cycles identifies the infectious with a minimal amount of false positives, the more cycles you do the more false positives are included. Fauci himself has said 35 cycles and above most results are false positives for infectious material. Western countries are running the PCR test at 45 cycles which is mathematically known to give 90%+ false positives. Govt and health officials know this. Groups in Portugal have joined groups in Italy and the UK in starting legal action against the fraudulent misuse of the PCR test used to justify continuing lockdowns and social restrictions. Meanwhile new research from the US finds: “All of this points to no evidence that COVID-19 created any excess deaths. Total death numbers are not above normal death numbers. We found no evidence to the contrary,”  Just as has already been found in many other countries (see recent posts above for data from Sweden and Ireland).  https://web.archive.org/web/20201126223119/https://www.jhunewsletter.com/article/2020/11/a-closer-look-at-u-s-deaths-due-to-covid-19
    • Doh! Maybe I should have thought it through a bit more aha. Not been having much luck instraday atm, so was going to try and take advantage of moves that last multible days, and so was wondering about overnight charges. But like you said, it's proably cheaper than the spread anyway. Cheers
