Why is there no USD/GBP bet available?

Apologies, my first time posting and appreciate that this may not be the best place to ask my question. I've been trading currencies for a few months mainly GBP/USD with very small stakes in order to learn. What has struck me are the overnight financing charges when you go long GBP. So I'm wondering why there isn't a mirror USD/GBP bet in order that I can go short USD rather than having to go long GBP, which would save me the financing charges? Thank you

It would be the same trade and you’d still get the charges. The charges are due to the difference in interest rates and the swaps between banks to make sure your position can stay open and isn’t delivered. There is a big description of that on here somewhere.
