Hey - some account types are known as 'limited risk' in that they only allow you to open positions which have a fixed risk value to yourself. Selling options can result in unlimited risks / losses on the account, and are known to be inherently risky.  Due to these reasons, 'limited risk' accounts can not short sell options.

Please check your emails as your account type should have been clearly laid out, not only in the sign up process and account opening, but in the email confirmations forwarded on.

What are your thoughts on the UK housing marker? "This UK REIT pays a 10% dividend yield and recently consolidated shares showing signs of hitting the bottom. Not only is this security trading at a massive discount, but its future looks stronger with as the Brexit cloud passes over."
