Hi, I’m new to IG, I’m confused about the size of “trade size”, how large is one size if measured by USD?

Hi, it's going to depend on what you are trading, if you look at the top of the IG welcome page and click on 'Markets to trade' and select from the list there will be a link to product details as in the example below for commodities.

My advice is practice the demo account for about two years until you truly understand what you are doing, i trade full time, mainly on another good plateform, understanding size is important, google is your friend, use it

cheers

refering to SpreadBet?

the size is how much your bet is per market move (tick) .

try the demo account for free to get a feel for how the system works. Risking on a live account will cost you.

start small size (bet) and move up as you build strategy.

However much you want it to be, Per point. It's up to you to set your budget.

    • I like the fact that the analysts focus purely on money and profitability without getting too political.  That's what we want to see.  (After all, why are any of us here except to make money ...)
    • I just notice Nick Radge is also on number 178, I've not listened to this one but could be useful for anyone looking to build a new system. 178: The Blueprint: Create a simple trend following system w/ Nick Radge https://chatwithtraders.com/ep-178-nick-radge/
    • Gold apparently.  Anything with 'mass public participation', i.e. anything that a lot of other traders are applying EWP to.  I'd be very surprised to see anyone who has been using any kind of TA successfully for 10 years come on this board, after all 'why should they' lol when they can sell analysis for a living instead of giving it away for free.
