transfer out of etrade

before I joined and moved my shares to IG, I was told I could move shares out of a US etrade account. Having submitted the transfer form, I am told that they can't find the email address (etrade doesn't communicate by email) and therefore they can't move shares out. I would imagine that etrade would be a rather large competitor and being unable to transfer shares out of these accounts is a major miss in my view.

 

I was looking to consolidate all my holdings, is this the wrong platform for that ???

Thanks for the query. 

To transfer the shares into an IG ISA they would need to be held with another broker in ISA. Otherwise we would need to transfer the shares into a share dealing account. Etrade require the transfer process to be initiated on their end.

Has anyone worked out how to switch from trade to IG? I don't want to start without knowing if I can transfer my US trade shares to an in isa wrapped account

By trade I mean ETrade account.
