Volume Data Incorrect?

Brad1981

Question

I'm not sure if the volume data i'm seeing is correct or not. If i take the chart of AB Dynamics and look at the volume on 4th of September 2019 it shows volume of 279k on other sites (a significant spike) but in IG there is no spike shown (only 13k). Volumes are different for all other days too. Most other sites agree with the 279k figure so i'm concerned the IG data may be wrong?

different platforms get their volume data from different sources so they never match numbers wise but the profile of the volume chart should be the same, also remember it can take a while after market close to collect and collate the volume charts.

Isn't it just number of shares bought and sold?  Futures and options make it more complicated.

The profile looks out of whack too though. It’s not comparable with other charts in terms of where the spikes in volume are
