Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti tries to clear up confusion about whether the stay-at-home order will be extended for three months. He says as long as COVID-19 exists, the stay-at-home order will remain, but with some flexibility for businesses to open.

Big anti-lockdown protests throughout Germany, 5000 in Stuttgart alone.

One rule for you and another for them, after the Ferguson fiasco was the Scottish health adviser caught attending a picnic and here the NZ health minister caught at the beach.

 

And in the US politicians and reporters at a press conference immediately abandon their face masks as soon as they think the cameras have stopped rolling.

New Lord Sumption interview today with the BBC absolutely gets it right. There is no excuse to continue the lockdown except for politicians to save face having done everything to put the fear of god into everyone in the first place. There is no danger of the NHS being overwhelmed. Businesses are being destroyed, peoples health and futures are being destroyed. Individuals should have the right to choose the amount of risk they take. Of all the pandemics documented over the last hundred years this one is the least severe of the lot.

It should be apparent to all that this lockdown has turned into total farce and the rules being made for social distancing to allow limited resumption of daily activities are just ridiculous.

Here a US tennis club official can barely keep a straight face as she reads out the new rules that will allow the club to re-open to the public.
