  3. Can anyone shed light on what the volatility index on IG tracks? It doesn't seem to track the classic VIX index, neither those that are a few weeks or months out. I figured it may be an average of say the first and second month VIX futures, but can someone clarify what the underlying is? Thanks!

  4. Ironic, when the most unstable of forces (Trump) finally exits, under duress, stage left, the worlds economies get exactly no time to breathe a sigh of relief. For the 2nd Friday in a row, nervous profit taking abounds. Markets , almost in totality are on the move and heading south for the winter (it seems). Naturally the outlier is Bitcoin, which is like the mad cousin at a family reunion where no one is quite sure what they will say or do next. It would appear that markets are becoming aware that the virus is not just going away. Far from it. More of the world is locking down again, ev

  5. The PCR testing explosion of false positives came about with the introduction of the mass testing of asymptomatics, previously testing was confined to those turning up at hospital with symptoms. I refer you to that podcast posted recently with the Harvard professor who explains very concisely that if you have any trace remnant of old, dead viral RNA, that can be retained in the body for many months, then you will PCR test +ve and automatically be classed as 'with' covid and therefore infectious when, for the majority this is simply not the case. Sorry to hear of your unwell relative.

  7. I am confused about rights issue whilst being. I understand you can buy back the rights. Is the buy back just crystallizing the loss from the short position? If your position is negative at the time of rights issue are you usually at a loss when the rights issue position is opened? Can you keep the short rights open and hedge with a long. I had a position short with Tui at 263 for £9 per point when rights were announced. 2300 loss with the Rights Issue. Bottom line: How could I have got out of the loss?

  9. Thank you for your reply Charlotte. I have sent an email to IG's help desk, and now I am just waiting for their reply. Hopefully they will active my account. O by the way I am ready to provide them an additional details if they need to, they only have to let me know what they want exactly. Thank you

  10. I’ve sent an e mail to IG stating I wish to partake in the Rights issue of TUI. Do I have to do anything else? I’ve funds in my account. Do IG add the shares automatically?

  11. Hi, No you can only Buy and Sell shares using the Share Dealing platform. you cannot Demo Share Dealing, However, I assure you, it's the same as CFD or Spread Betting, except it costs you to Buy and Sell but the Spreads are Tighter. I Trade Shares now instead of Spread Betting. The Spreads on Small Cap stock made it impossible to Day Trade. Of course there are downsides such as Tax, but you gotta make a profit first!
