  1. Of course you believe you know better than the market. You'd better rein that in: relegate it from "firm conviction that I cannot be wrong" to "well-researched belief with a stop-loss attached in case I'm wrong". You mention a "predictable news flow that would have set them right in due course". If it's all so predictable and your "deep DD" is so infallible, why didn't it tell you hold off and invest after the upcoming £7500 loss? "Deep DD" also ought to have lead you to realise that CFDs are a bad way to take a position on something that needs considerable time.

  2. Hi, C# : use combination of REST & streaming. Replicated using WPF example that you can download in labs. This issue is specific to REST Every 15 minutes I get 15 min prices for a range of epics. My allowance is fine with +6500 left. I keep getting random null responses with "forbidden" status code. Different epics. If I trap null response and then set rest call to execute again, it works. I continue and it carried on with rest of epics, or will do say 10 , return forbidden for 3 and then return fine for epics following that. if I step through each epic, its fine. So s

  4. As you rightly say, based on their decision making affect on existing customer positions, faith in IG being a decent ethical organisation is shattered - I would never have thought a company who had such a good reputation and project such s customer inclusive approach could **** its loyal customers on this manner; please email their Compliance department if not already done in case of future litigation

  5. ahh, that is why I don´t like weak-typed languages. C# would have spotted that error in the fist run. Also looking at the repo you sent, it seems that the streaming API has many errors and there are pending pull requests to be completed. The C# library works without any problem so you might want to have a look at it and give up Python.

  6. I always develop my own libraries so I don't have to deal with others' bugs. Where did you get that library? Let me clone it and see how the headers are being set up there. Is there any github I can clone to test it?

  7. I just realised that the "orderType"is a variable and is not a parameter, ignore that line about "type" , the rest still applies

  8. You have two parameters that conflict with each other, "timeInForce" and "goodTillDate". Change the "orderType" parameter to "type" I moved what I had in C# to Python in this repo, so it is easier to point things out: https://github.com/oneangrytrader/brokerapiclients/blob/master/IG.Python.Api.Client/tests/TestIgClientWorkingOrders.py Within the test you can see the parameters that I am using. The test uses GBPUSD with a limit and a stop of 100 away from the initial level.

  9. I don't know if anybody uses alerts effectively as they seem bit rudimentary; i cant find a way to modify an existing alert or temporarily disable them. copying a watchlist in between SB, CFD account rather than adding from scratch. Also in PRT (out of syllabus), i wish there was a way to see how much margin is required for the quantity entered similar to web platform.

  10. Hey , Our alerts team have actually been looking into RNS alerts, and think they are a great idea. They're on our radar, but we can't commit to any timeline at the moment due to current development schedules. If I get any updates I'll let you know. Cheers, Dan
