    Hi @pjstew
    Thanks for your post.
When you opened your MT4 account you should have received two emails. One providing your username and the other providing your password.
If you're having difficulty finding these please email us at helpdesk.uk@ig.com or use our live chat feature. Explain that you need your MT4 username and a MT4 password reset link. For us to send out this information we will require answers to 4/6 questions below:
    1. Name and date of birth
    2. Registered address
    3. Registered phone number
    4. Last 4 digits of a card you have used to fund the account
    5. Last market you traded
    6. Balance on your account.

Please do not respond to this post with answers to these questions.
    I hope this helps.

    Hi @Vinter
We are currently working on upgrading ProRealtime to v12, which is still in the Beta phase. We will have to wait until all the tests are completed and any bugs are addressed before releasing it. Regrettably, we cannot provide an ETA at this point. However, we will keep all clients informed once the new version is ready to be added. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Unfortunately you can't change your margin requirements for your account as they apply per market not per account.

You can find the margin requirements on the deal ticket by clicking on the info tab:

  12. MongiIG's post in RSI technical indicator on IG markets was marked as the answer
    Hi @FatFoss
    Thanks for reach out.
To calculate RSI, follow this equation:
    RSI = 100 – 100/(1+(average up closes/average down closes))
The RSI calculation gives a figure between 0-100. Most analysts believe that an asset at around the 70 level is in overbought territory and may be in for a correction, while an asset at or near 30 is oversold and may be in for a rally.

  15. MongiIG's post in Minimum Stop Loss was marked as the answer
    Hi @sanders12
The minimum stop distance is variable and can change. This is due to volatility in the market and our risk teams analysis. We constantly assess the market and adjust minimum distances accordingly.
With normal stops we put minimum distances in place which we find appropriate for the volatility. If you're trading on a volatile market and put a stop 3pts away you will likely be closed very fast, We don't want traders wasting their money being closed out due to volatility.
With regards to guaranteed stops we assess them based on volatility but IG are taking on risk when traders open these as we have to take on the loss if the market gaps through the stop.

  18. MongiIG's post in Deposit using Debit card failed was marked as the answer
    Hi @VegetaRx7
    Thanks for reaching out.
Why has my card deposit been rejected?
A card payment can be rejected for one of six reasons – these will normally be shown on the depositing screen.
The payment was rejected by your bank
This can usually be resolved by contacting your bank or card issuer.
    The payment failed online
If you think the payment was successful but can’t see the funds on your account after a few minutes, it’s likely the payment failed online. Clear your cookies and cache, log back in and try again.
In some circumstances, your bank may contact you to verify a payment before the transaction is authorised.
The name on the card doesn’t match
For security reasons, your chosen card must be in the same name as your account with us. We don’t accept payments from third parties or corporate cards, even if the card is in your name. If you’re a corporate account holder, please fund your account by bank transfer.
    The address doesn’t match
Make sure the address we hold for you matches the address registered with the bank you’re using to fund. You can edit your address by logging in to My IG, going to the ‘settings’ tab and selecting ‘personal details’.
Please contact your card issuer if a charge appears on your card after an address mismatch.
    We can’t accept your card
We're unable to accept any deposits from American Express cards or certain jurisdictions, like the US and would recommend using a different card or payment method.
The deposit exceeds your ISA allowance
Please check your allowance before depositing into your ISA account on the MyIG dashboard.
Please note when returning funds, we usually use the same method and same account from which it was received. If you made a deposit using a card, you’ll need to request a withdrawal back to that card. This will avoid potential delays, as additional checks may be required otherwise.

  19. MongiIG's post in Pivot point levels was marked as the answer
    Hi @Mythago50
    Thanks for reaching out.
    HOW TO CALCULATE PIVOT POINTS
The calculation for the most basic flavor of pivot points, known as ‘floor-trader pivots,’ along with their support and resistance levels:
    Pivot point formula
    Pivot point (PP) = (High + Low + Close) / 3
    First resistance (R1) = (2 x PP) – Low
    First support (S1) = (2 x PP) – High
    Second resistance (R2) = PP + (High – Low)
    Second support (S2) = PP – (High – Low)
    Third resistance (R3) = High + 2 (PP – Low)
    Third support (S3) = Low – 2 (High – PP)
There are other ways to calculate the pivot point, which is available on most trading platforms and can be extended through different time frames. The support and resistance levels will be calculated as above. Below is an example of what is offered on the IG trading platform for daily pivots. The same calculation can be made for weekly or monthly pivots too:

    Full article: Pivot Points
    Hope this helps.

  21. MongiIG's post in Arthur21 was marked as the answer
    Hi @Arthur21
    Thanks for reaching out.
    Custody fee
Our custody fee is a flat fee which means it does not grow as your investments grow, unlike at other brokers. It is also reduced by any trading fees you pay during the quarter.
If you place 3+ trades during the quarter, there is no custody fee to pay.

You are also automatically exempt from the share dealing custody fee if you invest £15,000 in an IG Smart Portfolio account. See more information on our range of expertly managed portfolios here.
Note for custody fee: If a custody fee is due, we’ll debit it from your share dealing account first. If sufficient funds aren’t available, we’ll then deduct from your ISA account. If there is insufficient cash on both accounts, the account with the highest asset value will be taken overdrawn.
For more information please visit these links: What are IG's share dealing and ISA charges and fees? and Share dealing: charges and fees
