IG, I hope one of your team please reads and replies to this. Your customer service is shockingly bad. I sent an email to the help desk on 12 July concerning a missing dividend (due in my dealing account on 24 June) and a follow up email on 19 July - but still no reply apart from the usual auto-respond saying we'll reply 'as soon as possible.'

You are a highly profitable FTSE 250 company and this is not the first time that I've had no response. Please invest in some more staff and have the courtesy to let me know that my query is actually being dealt with.

If I hear nothing within 5 working days from today, I will start the formal complaint procedure including, if necessary, referring to the financial ombudsman.

    Hi @Midas_Touch,

It's been a pleasure to speak with you over the phone. As I said, I'll follow up with our Corporate Action/Transfers team and I'll update via email/phone you as soon as I get any news.

I'd like to apologize to you if you haven't received any response in regards to this issue, we have increased our headcount since then to improve the service.

    Thanks,

    Jakub

Hello, I’m trying to trade a couple of boring ETF’s in my stocks and shares isa (Vanguard S and P as well as ishares S and P)

For some reason when I attempt to do so it says ‘this instrument is not available to trade on the tax wrapper associated to your account’

i was under the impression ETF’s could be traded on a stocks and shares ISA, is this not the case?

    Hi @Scott12347,

Not all the ETFs are ISA eligibile as per HMRC policies. Please check this link which contains an updated list of instruments tradable on ISA.

    Thanks,

    Hello,

I have been unable to access my account almost from the get go, and there seems to be very little by way of recourse/ customer support?

I still get statements sent to my email, but am unable to log in period. Every time i get the message 'Oops something went wrong' and takes me back to the login page. The username & password are correct. I have investments I want to withdraw, but can not? Feels like a scam!

    Any help much appreciated

    DS

    Hi @DonStrong,

Please try now. I have amended something on your account.

    Thanks,

    Jakub

Please tell me charges of following trade:

    0/03/21
    DEAL
    India 50 Cash ($2) converted at 1.3026883275
    -
    +0.26
    14877.7
    14880.5
    A$

    A$1.90
    MGMHPZAM

    Hi @Harjot,

You have realized a profit of A$1.90 on that trade. You placed that trade in US$ so the P/L was converted to your base currency which is A$.

    Thanks,

    Jakub

How long does a bed and isa transaction take? How long between the sell and buy back (as in how long is one 'out of the market' while this transaction takes place) . Thanks.

    Hi @runnergirl,

We try to process all Bed&Isa requests within 1 week. The process which consists in selling and buying back the stock through a Market Maker, happens in a few seconds.

    Thanks,

    Jakub

If I buy stocks in us stockmarket within my uk ISA account is there any tax to be payed or is it the same as trading UK stocks

    Hi,

If you trade US/EU/UK etc. shares on your ISA account, you are exempt from Capital Gains tax.

You are subject to 30% Withholding tax on dividends (15% if you fill the W8-BEN form in).

    Thanks,

    Jakub

    Hi

I would like to ask, if somebody could help me about the rules for pattern day traders.

Is it right that you are allowed to make more than three trades per 5 days if your account not drop below $25.000 ?

    Sincerely

    Thomas

    Hi @Thomas,

The short answer is no – the pattern day trader rule does not apply in the UK. If your trading broker is not regulated by FINRA – ie it is regulated by an authority outside of the US – you will not be bound by the pattern day trader rule.

For more info, please click here.

    Thanks,

    Jakub

    Hi there

Hope someone can help on this one.  Have been using IG for a while now.  Recently got a new lap top. Tried to download MT4 from IG site - but unable to do so. Asks me to create an account first - but as I'm already a user this does not help.  Also logged into my account and in Dashboard hit Add Account - as recommended - but no luck. Cant see any further guidance on the IG website for this.  Would anyone have a solution to this?

    Any help much appreciated

    Mica

    Hi @Micaday,

Please try the following link to download MT4 on your laptop. In order to create a live MT4 account and receive the credentials please go on the Dashboard > Add an account > MT4 CFD/SB.

Should you have any issue with this procedure, please let us know @ helpdesk.uk@ig.com

    Thanks,

    Jakub
