  1. ArvinIG's post in Book cost appears to move with exchange rate movements for non-UK shares. was marked as the answer
    Hi @hkd,

    Thank you for your post.
You can have your P/L in GBP, you will need to be in your position tab on your Workspace. Then click on the tab filters and select P/L in GBP.

P/L would be P/L in currency of the market and P/L GBP should be your base currency.

I hope that it helps !

    Hi @matt_balsh,

    Thank you for your post.

When a Corporate Action happens, our team will need to sell your shares at 0 and rebook them with the right amount of shares.

You P/L will show incorrectly as you will need to adjust your book cost.

To do so, please follow the link below:

  5. ArvinIG's post in Statement - what WITh type transaction was marked as the answer
    Hi @Federico,

    Thank you for you post.

These transactions are the commissions 'COMM' on your trades.

You bought 5000 shares of Greenlane Holdings Inc.

    https://www.ig.com/uk/charges

    Commission = 5000 x 2 cents = USD 100
    USD 100 x 0.8338 = GBP 83.38

I hope that it helps !

  6. ArvinIG's post in Why am I being charged 10£ for each trade? was marked as the answer
    Hi @sortaeduard,

    Thank you for your post.

You can find our charges for UK Share trading accounts here:
    https://www.ig.com/uk/investments/share-dealing/costs-fees

The rebates on commission applies when you traded 3 times or more in the previous calendar. If you traded 3 times in July then your commission will be the ones in the second columns.

I hope that it helps !

  7. ArvinIG's post in dividend adjustments was marked as the answer
    Hi @Beckybeech,

    Thank you for your post.

Dividend Adjustment will also affect Spread Betting accounts.

If you have an open position through a dividend adjustment, we’ll ensure that there is no material impact on you by either crediting or debiting your ledger with the exact amount you have incurred as additional running loss/profit due to the dividend adjustment.

You can find further details here.

  8. ArvinIG's post in CFDs no use to me, sorry.. was marked as the answer
    Hi @blackarrow,

I will forward your feedback to the relevant department in regards to having Share Dealing Demo servers.

I understand your point. We do have products warnings on our website clearly stating that leverage products are risky.
To open a CFD account , you will need to complete a questionnaire to assess your experience in trading. If you fail that questionnaire we wouldn't give you access to a CFD account to avoid exposing you to high risk products.

I don't know much of IB's offers, effectively you can compare both.

We do have the IG Academy, free educational content on trading if you are after some courses before starting to trade.

    Hi @pbforex,

    Thank you for your post.
Each Friday after market close, IG has a release window which is used to implement changes to our system. As part of this release, we are aware some accounts were temporarily unable to see open positions. The issue has since been rectified.
Please don't hesitate to contact us in the event you experience any further disruption.

    Hi @TraderX100 Mike,

Thank you for sharing the screenshots. The chart is zooming out to display the your order level, limit and stop. As the limit is far from the current price it needs to zoom out to be visible.

You can remove the feature "Position Preview"  by right clicking on the chart > Show :

  13. ArvinIG's post in Is it possible to add/edit stop losses to my positions within my ISA account? was marked as the answer
    Hi all,

Unfortunately, you can only add stops on existing position with leveraged accounts like a CFD account.

You will need to place the stop/limit when placing the deal.

    Hi @Tony,

    Thank you for your post.

On the deal ticket, you can find the relevant information on Info > Other

It seems that this stock is Unborrowable meaning can't be shorted, and on Non-leverage only meaning you can only trade this stock on Share dealing account, not on CFD or Spread betting accounts.

  15. ArvinIG's post in Commision was marked as the answer
    Hi @VIKBIK,

Thank you for you post. On AUS contracts one point means AUD 1. Therefore the 0.69 would be the conversion of AUD to your account base currency USD.

You can open a CFD account with a different base currency if you wish to trade in AUD for example. You will need to open a CFD account and contact us to change the base currency.
I hope that it helps !

  18. ArvinIG's post in Keeping ISA Account After Moving to Australia From UK was marked as the answer
    Hi @Monkhouse95,

    Thank you for your post.

If you have a Share trading account the below applies:

UK to Australia: It is easier to open a share dealing account with the Australian office, the UK one would be closed after the shares are moved across.
For an ISA account the below applies:
For most countries besides the EU you can keep the ISA and continue to trade with the existing funds. However you will be prohibited from further subscriptions i.e. adding funds.
The exception to this is a move to the US. Due to restrictions and what we can offer you would either need to transfer out or positions would be closed.

For further information it would be best to reach out to helpdesk.uk@Ig.com or call 0800 195 3100.

    Hi @ReadingTrader,

    Thank you for your post.

Unfortunately, you can't close all your position in one click, That is mostly to avoid any fat finger error that would close all you position instead of one specific for example.

You can close all your position on one market though:

  23. ArvinIG's post in money transfer between accounts was marked as the answer
    Hi @amilio,

Once you sell shares you will need to wait for the funds to settle. You can find the settlement period on the dealing ticket in the info tab :

When you place an order, the funds required to open this order are put aside in case the order is triggered to allow the deal to happen.

If all your funds are settled and not used for an order, then they are available to be transferred.

    I hope that it helps.
