Hi, when opening a position on my demo spread betting account the minimum per point seems to be quite high. EG with Netflix its $1.52 per point on a 57000 stock resulting in a $90,000 nominal position in the stock -- is this normal and what I can expect from a live account?
My objective is to build a diverse portfolio with occasional shorting of S&P500 to hedge. This will be difficult to achieve with such a large minimum position requirement.
Also, can you advise if the margin requirements are reduced if the long positions are diversified or hedged with short index positions?
Thanks
J
