placing new deal while keeping the previous deals

Hi, I have recently started trading with IG and have got a question. I would appreciate it if someone could help me with my problem. I will try to explain my problem with an example. I have a running "buy" deal of size, e.g., 1. Now I want to place another "sell" order of size. According to my strategy I want to keep both the deals running. but when I place the "sell" deal, my initiall deal gets closed. how can I keep both my deals? Thanks
