  1. Hi @BJ7444,

Based on your screenshot it looks like you are using a Spreadbet account in GBP. The error message is complaining that the EA is trying to convert GBP into USD which wouldn't be possible on a Spreadbet account.

It is also possible that the EA is struggling to cope with the suffix (GBP symbol) used at the end of all Spreadbet symbols.

If it isn't possible for the creator of the EA to adapt it to work on a Spreadbet account then you could get it to work by creating a CFD account in USD which based on your screenshot appears to be what the EA is looking for.

    All the best!

  2. Hi @CharlieB,

The ability to see historical entry and exit levels don't exist on the IG charts just yet but we will definitely consider adding it in future updates. In the meantime we do offer an advanced charting platform called Prorealtime where this feature does exist.

If you would like to learn more about Prorealtime then please click on these links:

  3. Good day @Talldom,

IG integrates into several 3rd party applications such as ProRealtime, Metatrader and Signal Centre but there are thousands of vendors out there so as much as we would like to offer a seamless integration into all useful apps it just isn't possible.

If Open banking increases in popularity then we would have a strong business case to add them to our integrated list of partners but for now we don't have plans to integrate with them in the near future.

I had a quick look at their website but I can't really determine if you can manually feed data into their app. If you just need to export and import specific data from your account then you could potentially do it via our public API https://labs.ig.com/ although you would have to confirm with Open Baking if that would be possible.

    All the best!

  4. Hi @Dellan,

EAs are 3rd party scripts so we aren't able to provide much help unfortunately. There could be a few reasons why it does not work:

1: It was created for MT5 and not MT4

2: The EA was designed to work only for certain instrument names or naming conventions, this is frequently an issue on the Spreadbet account because we have a £ symbol as a suffix in the instrument name.

3: You may have Auto trading on EAs disabled on the account. You can check this setting from Tools->options->expert advisors:

4: The file itself could be corrupt, you could try to download a new copy.

  5. Hi @fxlapt,

I had a look at the last ticket you submitted for this problem. ProRealTime replied at 8:00 this morning saying that they identified and fixed the error.

Please test it again and let us (chartsupport@marketdatasystems.com) know if you still encounter the same issue. It would also help a lot if you can specify the name of the screener you used to run the test.

You can also use this (13143) reference number when contacting the address above if you you want to follow up on the progress.

    All the best!

  6. Hi @fxlapt,

There is no setting to switch that feature on or off so based on the results from your test it seems as though your saved workspaces are faulty/corrupt. There is a chance that the workspaces could be fixed but if they didn't take very long to create I would suggest just recreating them from the default workspace.

If your workspaces did take a long time to create then we can ask ProRealTime to try and fix them but that may take some time. If you would like to try this option then please send a new report from Prorealtime but mention that the feature in question works on the default workspace and then list the names of the faulty saved workspaces you use so we can ask ProRealtime to go through the logs to see if they can fix them.

On your previous report  ProRealTime couldn't find a solution because they could not recreate the issue,  that is because the issue does not exist on a standard ProRealTime workspace but is instead linked to faults on your saved workspaces.

    All the best!

  7. Hi @Xerxes,

I have never used ProRealTime on a M1 MacBook Air but looking at the specifications it appears as though it should work fine.

ProRealTime has a built in tool where you can test the performance of the device, to access this tool go to help->computer performance, then click on "close platform and scan on next launch" This should give you some idea on why the platform feels sluggish.

Another thing you can try which in the past improved the performance on some older machines was to disable 3d chart effects and anti aliasing. You can find this setting under settings->workspaces->colors & effects. The charts won't be as pretty but it should be much faster.

  8. Hi @Robby1,

The drawings available on the IG platform are limited to freehand drawings using fixed points. We do offer an advanced charting package called ProRealTime where you are able to perform more advanced drawing functions:

If this looks like something you would like to try out then you can activate ProRealTime for free on your IG demo account for a period of 60 days. You can also find out more about ProRealTime from these links:

  9. Hi@fxlapt,

I tested it on V11.1 - 1.8.0_202 and it still works. If I click on any instrument from a list it brings up a chart in the existing chart window. If I right click on the instrument I get the option to open a chart in a new window.

If this does not work for you then it may be an issue isolated to the specific workspace you are using. You can test this by going to file->load workspace->default workspace and then clicking on an instrument from a list to see if it opens a chart.

If it works on the default workspace then it means that the workspace you are using may have an error.

If it still does not work even on the default workspace then the best way to have this investigated would be to send a report directly from your Prorealtime platform which will include all the logs required to investigate the issue.

You can do this by clicking on help->help center->I am having a technical problem->other, fill in the ticket and then click on send report.

    Hope this helps!

  10. Hi @piersft,

You can create an MT4 demo by following these steps:

1: Open your MT4 terminal and go to file->open an account

    image.png.56251b61809cd96da52dbbd753cb6dca.png

2: If you installed MT4 from the IG website the IG server addresses should already be added by default.

    image.png.f73f83b00479dd5c31daa7a54955c74c.png

    image.png.3092e8d8c97b1fba540b1102e8860888.png

If not then you can easily add them by clicking on the green + symbol and entering:

MT4.IG.COM:443 for Live and DEMO-MT4.IG.COM:443 for the Demo server. Once you entered the address click on scan and ensure that you are able to see a ping number next to the server address to confirm a successful connection.

3: Select the IG demo server and click next, then select "New demo account" and click next again:

    image.png.fb06816c136a375080cf747d15f0a130.png

4: Fill in the demo application (you have to tick the newsletter box otherwise it won't let you continue):

    image.png.18ae14a3ceb25f171922f0370786f572.png

Take note of the account type:

Forex is for a CFD account and the currency in the suffix determines your demo base currency. Betting is for a Spreadbet account. US FX is for clients based in the US.

    image.png.3165cd547eedd852289edbac6cf67048.png

    -Click next to continue

5: You should now see a window confirming that your demo account is ready for use and a section providing you with your demo login and password. Click finish to complete the account creation journey and start using your MT4 demo.

  11. Hi @David30b @dmedin @Caseynotes,

We found that it was a problem for all users who have BitDefender installed, it creates extensions in certain browsers such as Chrome, Firefox and Safari which then blocks the New Web Trading Platform from loading up. The easiest way to get around it when using chrome is to type chrome://extensions/ in the URL field, then disable the BitDefender extensions.

Our developers are working on a permanent solution as it may happen after every BitDefender update.

    Hope that helps.

  12. Hi

You are correct, at the moment you can only create drawings in the price window so if the indicator is displayed in a separate window then you would not be able to add a drawing to it. It might be something worth considering for future updates so I have forwarded your suggestion to our developers.

    Thank you for the feedback

    Anton

  13. Hi

At the moment there is no plan to include the tick data volume from our platform's FX pairs to ProRealTime, I will send your feedback to IT finance for further consideration. At the moment you will only be able to see volume for instruments where the volume data will comes from an exchange or underlying market such as shares and indices.

    Thanks

    Anton

  14. Hi

I asked our developers about the sentiment data and they agree that it would be a very useful addition, although at this time it is still quite far down the development line and as a result I am not able to give a definitive timeline.

Thank you for your patience and for taking the time to ask the question.

    Thanks

    Anton

  15. Hi

This feature is already available on the New Web Trading Platform. You also have the ability to change the colours of the volume bars if you do not like the red and green bars. To change the colour click on the name "volume" in the indicator window, it will come up with your indicator settings tab from where you can change the colour as shown below in the screenshot.

    Thanks

  16. Good day

The “Change %” column that is visible from the Watchlist window is unfortunately not available as a visible column in the open positions window, this is the case on the Classic and New Web Trading Platform.

We will send this suggestion to our developers to be considered for future platform updates as it is definitely something that could prove useful when monitoring open positions. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our platform.

    Regards

    Anton
