I'm trading FX on both demo account and spread bet live account on MT4 with automated trading.
I built the trading system on demo account and finally moved to live account to trade, they're now both running with the same configuration.
What I found out is that they behave differently, after digging deeper, I found out that the price of these 2 accounts are different. Not necessarily one is better than the other but they're different, which makes my trading difficult because all the analysis and backtesting was done on demo account, now that they're different I can't be sure if it'll still work, and I don't want to lose a lot of money because of the difference in quotes.
Now that I checked what says on the IG website, it says spread bet is using underlying market price, but comparing the spread bet live account's price with some of major brokers on trading view, generally the spread bet live price is lower than the ones on trading view, and demo price is generally higher than the ones on trading view.
Does anyone know why there's such discrepancy between demo and live accounts?
