    Following this as the topic is still very relevant. I can see that ii and IBKR have either currency accounts or equivalent currency wallets which reduce the cost of back & forth.

    I believe the answer relates to "currency transfer" and "automatic currency conversion", although most posts about this subject are a bit old and the settings don't reflect that (e.g. you could have manual currency conversion for a SIPP despite said otherwise elsewhere on the forum)
