My indices position was not closed by IG twice for different reasons. Is that the right approach to take?

Twice my position was refused to be closed by IG trading the US indices open. First time reasons given of volatility, then about 30 seconds later another trade delayed closing because of something about contingency. How am I meant to trade when the trades are refused closing or delayed and I lose money. Is this the right way to treat client's trades?
