Market Expectations

Hello all,

I am new (ish) to trading and have a quick question. Say for example Vodafone is releasing earning tomorrow, of course if this misses market expectations there will be volatility to trade. My question is how do you find out what the market expectation is? Thanks.

Re: Market Expectations

Hey @RichB-Trader - when people talk about expectations they are generally referring to the average analyst expectation of a particular stock. You can find this information (to varying degrees of granularity) on a number of sites, for example the FT. You will need a subscription for this specific link, but I'm sure there are others out there.
