make sure you know what u are getting into
this is not an exchange
this is a company making profits on spreads and funding
everything is designed to help them not you
you will be regularly stopped out at weird hours on questionable market "prices"
much better to be used for intraday stuff than as an investment tool

Hi - Like you said it's really important that all new clients know exactly what they are trading, how markets are priced, and what account type they are signing up for. To clarify...
If you are trading on a share dealing account you will be trading directly in the market and there will always be a trade printed in that specific underlying exchange which reflects the exact trade that you have done.
If you trade shares via CFD DMA then the same thing applies as you are trading directly in the market.
If you trade CFD FX Direct then you are dealing directly in the FX market.
If you trade other CFD products or spread betting then all these prices will be derived from the underlying market. This is because you are trading a leveraged derivatives product which have their own unique advantages. Spread betting is generally capital gains tax free for example. You can see how specific markets are priced and how the markets work on our website and help and support portal.
If you ever want to know more about a market before you trade it please research and get in contract first. If you ever don't know how a market is priced and would like to go through it one-on-one, please ask in IG Community or give us a call. If you ever want to query a trade, a filled order, a stop or limit, or anything on your account please give us a call as soon as possible. The dealer will be able to talk you through everything and provide evidence to show you how the trade was executed in the underlying market.
We are a fully regulated, UK listed market leader, so please get in touch if you don't understand something or would like more information.

Does a stock having dividend will impact for a CFD trade?
If yes, may I know how?
hi - if you are long a set number of shares via a CFD then you will receive a cash deposit for the appropriate dividend on the Ex date. If you are short then you will pay the required div and be debited from your account.
