Why currency is showing in GBP

Hi,

I am new to trading and planning to buy US stocks. When deposited the money in USD, platform automatically converted into GBP and again when buying any US stocks, its again converting from GBP to USD.

I am trying to reach support from yesterday and its constantly in waiting fro more than 1hr. 

 

Can anyone help or guide to understand the process here?

I read/heard somewhere about a multi-currency option in IG and I'm trying to find out how to activate this option as I too am interested in trading in US shares. However, I do not want to be hit with a conversion fee for EVERY trade that I carry out.
