Change in Spread range

Can I ask to have explained why and how the spread can change from a .00006 pip spread to being 10 x higher at .0006 showing a 6 pips spreads from .6 pip spread. this means that the previous positions would have an immediate loss of $30 on a 5 contract on mini?
Enough to make me look elsewhere.
