I’m with you, there’s still a massive surplus across the world , can’t quite believe the prices it rose to the last couple days. With the future expiry Monday evening a fall must come surely on Monday. Or maybe I’m missing something as well! Anyone else like to shed some light on this?!!

Quick question I see June’s future expiry through IG is the 18th but WTI is the 19th? Any reason for this? Scrub that I see IG deals with NYMEX

I was just going to ask this as well! Find them far more accurate than PIA.
-
And I see the expiry is the 18th this month on a Monday after the weekend! Could be interesting!

Scrub that found it!

Where do you turn rollovers on or off? I must be blind can’t see it anywhere!!
-
I presume you can close a future contract at any time like a normal deal Caseynotes?
-
And of course if it goes to negative you’d lose money as well!
-
I presume if you’ve got auto rollover turned off it just settles on whatever figure it’s on when it finishes?
-
Also Caseynotes if I took out a June future contract at sell at roughly what is now(1900) I would not have any overnight charges correct?
-
I presume that would happen at the June future expiry date or not long before that? What’s around the 21st isn’t it?? Obviously nothings set in stone but it does look like it will follow the same pattern as before. Certainly worth keeping an eye on!

With the price it was, how Oil has flown back is a bit of a surprise considering there’s still way too much of it, with not enough storage. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? Are these prices a false dawn?!

I think the bottom price was a over reaction to the lack of storage , over production etc. Current price is probably too high . Somewhere in the middle is most likely the real baseline for now. But who knows!!

What do you guys think short term is going to happen? I see the futures predict it dropping to around 1800 in the next month and rising again after. But obviously a lot can change with America looking to start moving again.

Thanks Caseynotes. Think I’ll take a hit on these then swap. Should come good in the end once the world starts moving again!

Hi, which of the answers and explanations already given within the thread are you having trouble with?
Can you change your trades from cash to futures without closing positions? It’s not quite clear on the description, but I may have missed it.
Thanks Neil

Am I right in saying the spot prices generally mirror the futures give and take a hundred points or so? So if the spot collapses or the futures it affects the other?
