  1. Hello.

I own stock in IBM. They recently spun off a new company, Kydryl (KD). I should have received a number of shares. Can you advise why I have not received these?.

The Spin OFF was effective over a week ago. I owned the stock prior to the Ex Spin Off date (shareholders on record), so there should be no reason why I have not received the new stock.

    Many thanks,

    Thanks for your post.

You can transfer shares from your share dealing account to ISA via the Bed & ISA process, which involves selling the shares and repurchase them on the ISA account. This process can be done over the phone with one of our dealers.

It'll cost £40 in commission per line of stock to sell the shares on share dealing account but free of charge to repurchase on the ISA. There will also be spread costs which is capped to roughly £30 per line of stock, however, this is generally cheaper for the majority of stocks.

If you're interested in doing so, please call us so we can help.

Alternatively you can sell the stock, wait for the funds to settle, move the funds and buy them back in the ISA.

    All the best

I think the point the Client is trying to make, is no body picks up the phone. This has been my experience. Waiting for literally an hour at a time, and then still no one picks up.

This raises the question ... Is there actually anyone there to answer the phone?
