Is it possible to increase position size without closing and re-opening the position?

Hi all,

I have a spread-betting account, with one open position.  Is it possible to increase the position size (i.e. in my case, GBP per point), while the position is still active?  If I try it, there is an error, "The size you have requested is greater than your existing position".

Or, is it possible to open a new position in the same market, with a new size amount, and have both positions open at the same time?

If I close the position and then re-open with a new size, that means paying the spread again.
