Converting my Australian dollars in to US dollars in my trading account.

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have a share trading account. I recently put a sum of money into this account.

I want to convert the money into US dollars. I know that when i go to my "live accounts" I will find an overview of my share trading account and it has a line-item in the overview  called "currency conversion". I click on this and there is a page called Currency Conversion where you can select either Manual or Instant currency conversion. I want to manually convert my currency to US dollars when it's more favourable conversion-wise, not necessarily when I buy a shares. This page doesn't really explain how I can do that. It just allows you to choose between Manual or Instant conversion.

Does anyone know how I can do this?

Hi @DavidS

Thanks for reaching out. You can manually convert funds when you (1) buy US stocks (2) call into our helpdesk to convert your funds to USD.  Selecting the 'Manual' option means you will have different currencies in your account until you decide to convert back to your base currency. All the best, OfentseIG
