S&P500 Elliott Wave Analysis

Recommended Posts

Stock Market Report S&P 500 - NASDAQ 100 - RUSSELL 2000 - DAX 40 - FTSE 100 - ASX 200. Elliott Wave Analysis
Summary: There is a reasonable case for a low to be in place for the US indices as Wave 4. The first Elliott Impulse wave is being created, the other positive point is the trading session closed higher and on higher volume placing the bulls in control of the market. Once the Impulse is completed on the SP 500 and Nasdaq 100, we can look to buy the retracement at the 61.8% and start to build long trades.
The alternative count is the current low is Wave a) of 4.

Elliott Wave Count:
SP 500: Wave 4 low in place or Wave b) of 4 in progress
Nasdaq 100: Wave 4 low in place or Wave b) of 4 in progress
Russell 2000: Wave 4 low in place or Wave b) of 4 in progress
DAX 40: Wave b) of 4
FTSE 100: Wave ii of (c) of 2 lower
ASX 200: Any low would require confirmation

    • Some indices in Asia saw a modest rebound, but the ASX200 and Nikkei continued to fall, following on from yet more heavy losses in the US. Stocks continue to take a battering from the realisation that the Fed would leave US rates at their current levels for a longer period than previously thought, leading to a reversal in equities and a resumption of the losses seen in the early part of September. Today's data is dominated by flash PMIs from around the globe, in the wake of a Bank of Japan statement that left policy unchanged and maintained its dovish outlook. While US futures have recovered slightly, European markets seem set for a choppy open.
