US Shares

Good afternoon

I'm a new member and tomorrow I wish to purchase some shares that are in the US market.

My money on the site is currently in UK £ can I buy US shares with this or do I need to convert it to US $ first.

Welcome to the IG community and thank you for your post.

Please note that you can purchase US shares. When purchasing shares requiring a different currency to your account's base currency, an FX conversion is required. Our standard currency conversion fee is 0.5% on top of the exchange rate, therefore, your funds will automatically be converted to $.

Commission on US equities is  £10 per trade.
