[What makes the FTSE move]

I’d say the value of the Pound is important as many of the FTSE 100 companies make their earnings overseas. High pound=bearish. Haven’t done a cross correlation to confirm though.

Yes, I have recently started playing with the automated system on PRT, and EMAs are working fine in my code. Occasionally, my pc has crashed during testing but I think that is a problem with my old system rather than the code.

There are some good videos for learners on the IG site.  View them all as a course before you start.

Most importantly: Do not go live until you know what you're doing! It's very easy to blow your account.

I use the standard IG web-based charting package with Google Chrome on a Mac desktop.

Is it possible to use the mouse and some combination of keyboard controls (like Shift, Cmd etc) to do:

1.  Perfectly horizontal lines between 2 points using the line tool.

2.  Lines between multiple points using the line tool.

......or is the line tool limited only to freehand between 2 points?

Try a right click on a blank area of the chart > Show > and then check your settings.
