I am interested in some short term trend following and selling a position if the price rises above a limit level(having ridden the rising trend for a week or two), but also getting out of the position on a stop loss if the trend reverses. So I would like to have both an active stop loss and an active limit order. But it seems like I can only have one or the other, not both together. I first set a stop loss on my whole position, but then when I tried to also set a limit I got an error saying I was trying to sell more that I had. But it worked when I cancelled the stop. Am I restricted to only having one or the other, or can I set both stop losses and limit orders for selling the position?
