    I have encountered the same problem. Apparently your account will be restricted from opening new positions if you didn’t deposit funds into your ISA account in the previous tax year. They will not email you to say they are restricting your account. The restriction will be put in place on 6th April or first day of the new tax year. To continue opening positions you must fill in a paper form requesting that your account be reactivated. You will need to do this at the start of each new tax year. Of all the brokers I use, IG is the only one with such a ridiculous policy. If they do not change it I will have to transfer my ISA to another provider.
