Demo account for basic stock trading/investing

Is it possible to open a demo account for basic stock investing / trading i.e. not a CFD or Spread Betting demo account?

Hi Ben10,

Unfortunately we do not offer Demo accounts with Share dealing only. You can buy shares through leverage on the Demo though.

How do I buy Mandrake Resources (ASX) on a demo account?  Mine says "CLOSING DEALS ONLY - IG is not accepting opening trades on this market, you may only place an order to close."

Initially I thought it was because my first attempts were before the market opened at 10am, but now that the market's open and I can see trades for Mandrake going through like usual (and even bought some myself via another broker) I still can't place an order for same in my IG test account.

Mandrake Resources Ltd is not available to trade on leveraged account (CFD). You can see that information is available on the info tab on the dealing ticket:
