Limit Orders and Expiry

Guest Tom

Question

Just wondering if limit orders are always only valid for the day?  I can't seem to find the option to change such a limit order to be valid for longer / end of the month ?

Hi Tom

Thanks for the query

On Share Dealing you simply would need to change the expiry as indicated below: Please note that in some shares the only available expiry is the day option e.g. Market maker shares

In Spread betting or CFDs you can change the expiry as indicated below:

All the best

Thanks Anda,  Just wondering though what determines if a stock is a "market maker" stock.  I noticed the same issue for a number of shares , all were only available with a day limit. Does that mean that orders for these shares are never processed via Nasdaq but always only via a market maker?
