Has IG stopped new Crypto trades permanently as the market looks close to an end or is it just temporary?

Normally IG re-opens Crypto trading on Saturday afternoon.  I noticed that trading re-commenced but then stopped.  At the moment, you can call to close trades but not take out new ones.  This makes sense if Crypto is close to the end, as IG won't be able to offset it's positions once the coins are worthless and there is no underlying market.  I trust IG to get these decisions right because historically they have done an awesome job at risk management.  Just wondering if this is temporary or if IG has called time on Crypto with the end expected in the next few weeks or sooner?

OK.  I spoke too soon!  Looks like it is back up and running... for now.

Thank you for your post.

Cryptocurrencies markets close at 10pm on Friday night (UK time), then reopen on Saturday at 8am (UK time).

On weekends IG performs backups, it is possible that some maintenance are longer that other, hence delays.

Thanks Arvin, good to hear that it was essential maintenance.  With so many markets trading 24hrs, not much time for the IT guys to do their thing.  I've been with IG for several years now.  Love your work!
